Suspects Arrested on Retail Fraud Charges at Northville Kohl's

The following information was supplied by Northville Township's Public Safety Department and the City of Northville police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suspects Arrested on Retail Fraud Charges

  • A 19-year-old Livonia woman was arrested on Sept. 26 on shoplifting charges, according to township police reports. Store security told police the woman was seen stealing jewelry from Kohl's on Haggerty Road south of Eight Mile Road. She was released on a $300 cash bond and is due to appear in the 35th District Court in mid-October.
  • A 40-year-old Farmington Hills man was arrested on Sept. 26 after Kohl's store security said he stole items from the store and refused to stop when confronted about it, according to township police reports. He was stopped by police in his car in the store parking lot, police said. When he was moving quickly in the car, police ordered him out at gunpoint, according to the report. He was released on a $300 bond and is due to appear in the 35th District Court in a week.

Building damage reported

The owner of a building on North Center Street reported to city of Northville police that someone broke a glass pane at the building. According to the police report, the person did not try to break in. The incident occurred sometime between the evening of Sept. 27 and the morning of Sept. 28, police said.

Joe, the closed sign was in the window because Chocolates by Renee was closed for the day. The forRead More rent sign was in the window because the space holds more then one business. The other space that the chocolate store does not occupy is available to rent.

Journo101 mistake here. Always verify a closure with the owner or valid source before publishing.Read More Mistakes like this can be incredibly costly for a small business owner. The for rent sign has been there for over a year, same with the closed sign. Spend time in your city everyone, and you'll know whats going on before you see it online!
