Crime Report: Accused Trespassers and Shoplifter Caught in Northville

The following information was supplied by Northville Township's Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Trespassers caught

Three men were found at the Seven Mile property, the former psychiatric hospital, on Dec. 29 and were cited for trespassing, according to Northville Township police reports.

The men were carrying flashlights and dust masks. They are due to appear in the 35th District Court in mid-January.

Shoplifting reported at Kohl's

A 19-year-old Farmington Hills woman was arrested at on charges of retail fraud on Dec. 29.

According to township police reports: the woman was seen by store security putting merchandise in her purse while in the fitting room. She was approached by store security outside, after she left the store, and was later arrested by township police. She was released on a $300 bond and is due to appear in the 35th District Court in mid-January.

Car part reported stolen

The owner of a car parked at on Dec. 28 told police that the car's catalytic converter was stolen, according to police reports. No other similar incidents were reported.

Mailbox damaged

While on patrol, a police officer noticed a mailbox lying in the grass near Gerald and Doheny streets. According to the police report, the officer saw tire tracks in the mud and grass near the mailbox, "which suggested that a vehicle jumped the raised concrete curb and struck the mailbox."
