Crime Report: Alleged Kohl's Shoplifter Caught, Man with Marijuana Arrested

Alleged shoplifter at Kohl's arrested

's store security personnel caught a man who allegedly admitted to stealing clothes and other goods from the store on April 14.

According to the police report, store security personnel watched the 26-year-old Plymouth Township man grab merchandise from a display, go into the dressing room, remove the packaging and hide the items under his clothes.

After the man left the fitting room, he reportedly exited the store without paying. When store security confronted him, he allegedly admitted that he had stolen the items and had more in his car, according to the report.

All of the merchandise was returned to the store, and he was arrested. The report said he was charged with Retail Fraud, 3rd Degree.

Woman pulled over for 'defective equipment,' arrested

At about 10 p.m. Sunday near Five Mile and Beck roads, pulled over a car that had "defective equipment," according to police report.

The 44-year-old Ypsilanti Township driver had a warrant out of Yspilanti for a dog at large violation and was arrested. Her passenger, a 37-year-old Ypsilanti man, admitted to having a warrant and was arrested too, the report said.

Roll of quarters stolen from vehicle

A man on the 40000 block of Greenridge Drive reported to police that sometime between 9 p.m. April 14 and 8:30 a.m. April 15, someone had stolen items from his car. According to a police report, he told township police that he left the car parked by his house unlocked.

He said a $10 roll of quarters and an engraved knife sheath were taken from the car, the police report said.

He found his passenger door ajar in the morning with his glove box open and center console flipped open, the report said. Police found no signs of forced entry or fingerprints.

Driver arrested after marijuana found in car

Township police spotted a suspicious vehicle – which was driving erratically in and out of the Home Depot parking lot on Seven Mile Road near Haggerty Road – on April 12. According to the report, the vehicle was repeatedly driving in and out of the Home Depot lot and back and forth on Seven Mile. Police pulled over the vehicle and asked the driver for permission to search the car, according to the police report.

The driver allowed the search and said he had nothing illegal in the car, the report said. But police found a glass jar full of marijuana, the report said.

He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. He was released on $150 bond.
