Crime Report: Dog Attacked by Coyote in Northville

The following information was supplied by the City of Northville Police Department and Northville Township's Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Coyote attacks dog in Northville

A resident of the 900 block of Coldspring Drive in the city of Northville reported to police that her dog had been attacked by a coyote on July 1.

According to city police reports, the woman's dog was in her back yard when it was attacked. She took it to the vet and the dog will be OK, she told police.

The coyote was gone by the time police arrived and they could not find it.

Police told the woman to keep a watchful eye on her dog when it's outdoors and to call the police again if the coyote returns.

Money reported stolen from Brick's

The manager at reported on July 1 that $450 was stolen from a safe in the restaurant, according to city police reports.

There was no sign of forced entry into the restaurant but its security alarm was activated around 2:30 a.m. the same morning. According to the report, the employees working the evening before the emptied safe was discovered were questioned as well as the employees who discovered it the following morning.

The case is still under investigation.

Gun reported stolen from home

A gun was reported stolen from a home on the 800 block of Yorktown Court. According to city police reports, it was stolen sometime before the morning of July 2. There were no signs of forced entry at the home.

Money reported stolen from ice cream shop

A group of girls between the ages of 12-14 are accused of stealing dollar bills from a tin cup by the register at in Northville Square, according to city police reports. The incident occurred on June 29.

Woman's car window broken by thrown object

A Northville woman reported to city police that while driving north on Center Street near West Dunlap Street, her car window was broken by an object thrown at her car. According to the police report, it left a small hole consistent with the size of a BB pellet.

Plants vandalized

On June 28, a resident of the 45000 block of Pebble Beach Court reported to township police that all of the leaves of two of his plants had been torn off. He told police he did not see who tore them off.

Purse reported stolen

A woman shopping at stores on Haggerty reported that at some point on June 27, her purse had been stolen from her car.

According to township police reports, the purse was on the floor on the passenger side of her car. About $270 in cash was stolen as well as credit and gift cards.

Window screens damaged

A resident of the 8000 block of Napier Road reported to police that sometime in the early morning, someone cut the window screens of their home. According to township police reports, it set off their security alarm but no one was seen outside the home.
