Crime Report: Man Throws Bottle From Car in Front of Police Officer, Cited For Littering

The following information was supplied by the City of Northville Police Department and Northville Township's Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Northville Township police officer cited a 21-year-old Petoskey man after the officer saw a plastic bottle thrown from a car on July 22, according to Northville Township police reports.

When the car was pulled over near Haggerty and Cross roads, a man sitting in the back seat admitted to throwing the bottle, according to the police report. He was cited for littering and is due before the 35th District Court in Plymouth in August.

Seven Mile property trespassers arrested

On July 19 at about 2 a.m., Northville Township police spotted flashlights near the former psychiatric hospital on Seven Mile Road.

According to police reports, two people on the property attempted to hide but were found and cited for trespassing. They are due to appear in the 35th District Court in August.

Car break-ins reported

  • A resident of the 900 block of Whitegate Drive reported to city of Northville police that loose change was stolen from the resident's car. According to police reports, two men were seen on surveillance video walking near the car before breaking in on July 19.
  • A white substance was left on an SUV that was reported to be broken into on July 23 on the 900 block of McDonald Drive. According to police reports, a wallet was stolen from a purse left in the SUV.

Car reported keyed

A resident of the 600 block of Ashley Court reported to city police that a car parked in the house's driveway was keyed.
