Crime Report: Man Tries to Break into Woman's Apartment

Man accused of trying to break into woman's apartment

A Northville Township woman got quite a scare on April 1 when a man she did not know was spotted knocking at her door, trying to gain access, according to township police reports. She was hiding in the closet with her kids when she called police.

When township police arrived, they ordered the man away from the door. According to the police report, he said he was trying to gain access to his own apartment where he said his girlfriend and cousin were inside.

He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. According to the report, he is due to appear in the 35th District Court in mid-April.

Car reported damaged at CVS

A Northville woman reported to township police that on March 2, her car had been damaged while parked in the CVS lot on Haggerty Road.

According to the report, it appeared someone left "pry marks" on the car as they tried to break in. The woman told police she was only in the store for about half an hour when the incident happened.
