Motorcycle reported stolen

Sometime in the overnight hours of May 23, a motorcycle was stolen from its carport at the , according to Northville Township police reports.

The owner told police the handlebar column and ignition were locked and that he had the keys with him.

The bike is a gray 2005 Harley Davidson Fat Boy without metallic flakes and a 15th anniversary emblem on the side of the gas tank.

Man may have been drinking before crash

A man driving in the eastbound lane of Seven Mile Road crashed into the car ahead of it, which was parked at a red light at Haggerty Road, according to police reports.

The report indicated that the man behind the wheel of the car that smashed into the other told police "that he had just woken up and he may have fallen asleep while driving."

Police observed that the 47-year-old Northville man smelled of alcohol. He had a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, according to the police report.

A witness interviewed by officers following the May 24 accident said the man was "swerving all over the lane" before approaching the intersection.

The vehicle hit had to be towed away because of severe damage, according to the report.

The man was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated. He is due to appear in the 35th District Court in June.

Man admits to stealing from Hiller's

On May 27, a 48-year-old Plymouth man was arrested and charged with retail fraud after allegedly stealing from on Haggerty Road.

The man was spotted by store security putting three meat items in his pocket and leaving the store without paying, according to police reports.

According to store security's statements to police, the man attempted to run and was caught and handcuffed.

According to the report, the man told police he was "stealing food because he is out of work."

He is scheduled to appear in the 35th District Court in June.
