Crime Report: Northville Police Seek Warrant in Robbery

Jet's Pizza robbed

City of Northville police are seeking a warrant for the arrest of a man who robbed the on Novi Road on New Year's Eve.

According to the police report: two men made a reach for the register while paying for pizza they had ordered. One of the men was caught by the store manager after a chase and was arrested. Video shows that a cashier also attempted to grab him and he did not get away with any cash. The other got away with less than $200.

Police were able to determine the identity of the second suspect and a warrant is pending for this arrest, according to the report.

Police arrest man who hid prescription drugs in underwear

Township police pulled over a man on Jan. 6 who made an illegal right turn at the intersection of Seven Mile and Haggerty roads. But it would be while booking him later at the station, that they would make an interesting discovery.

When police pulled over the man's truck, according to the report, the man had a bag with a syringe and spoon in plain sight. The officer searched the vehicle and found no sign of drugs. But a check of his license plate showed that it was stolen, according to the report.

The man told police that he found the license plate and put it on his truck. He was arrested and taken to the township police station. During the booking process, police discovered he had prescription drugs hidden in his underwear, according to the report. He also had an outstanding warrant out of Bay City.

Accused shoplifters arrested

  • store security say a woman was seen putting cosmetics into her purse and leaving the store without paying for them on Jan. 5, according to police reports. The 20-year-old Farmington Hills woman was arrested on charges of retail fraud. She was released on a $300 bond and is due to appear in the 35th District Court.
  • A man was spotted on Jan. 8 by Meijer store security switching price tags from cheaper items to more expensive ones and stealing other merchandise, according to police reports. He was arrested, released on a $300 bond and is due to appear in the 35th District Court.

Steel reported stolen

Sometime over the holidays, from Dec. 23, 2011 to Jan. 3, 2012 raw steel was stolen from a business on the 700 block of Baseline Road, according to township police reports. The steel is valued at about $1,000.

Vehicle break-in reported

A vehicle parked on the 40000 block of Seven Mile Road was broken into and items stolen from inside, according to township police reports.

The van was parked outside of a business. The sliding glass door was damaged and tools were stolen, according to the report.

Car tires damaged

A resident on the 20000 block of Silver Springs Drive reported to police that the tires on his car had been damaged while he was out of town, according to the police report. He said they were flattened after all four of the tire's valves were cut off.

Truck window broken

The rear window on the truck of an employee at the Harbour Village Apartments on Seven Mile Road was broken, according to township police reports. The employee's truck window was reported shattered from the inside, with most of the glass landing in the bed of the truck.
