Crime Report: Portable Toilets Tipped Over, Man Arrested for Marijuana Use

Man arrested for possession of marijuana

A Northville Township officer spotted a car pull into Hines Park around 12:37 a.m. on Oct. 4 and followed it in, according to a police report. According to the report, the people in the car were seen lighting something multiple times. When the officer approached, he could smell marijuana.

The driver told police that he had a medical marijuana card application being processed but could not locate proof. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He posted $200 bail and is due to appear in the 35th District Court in a few weeks.

Teen arrested for stealing alcohol

An 18-year-old Northville woman was arrested on Oct. 6 after reportedly stealing alcohol from . According to township police reports, store security saw the woman take the alcohol, go into a dressing room and come out with it in her purse.

Store security stopped her and recovered the four cans of beer and bottle of liquor, according to the report. When township police arrived, she was arrested and charged with larceny. She was also charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol. She is due to appear in the 35th District Court in mid-October.

Trespassers arrested

At about 3:40 a.m. on Oct. 5, four Westland teens were spotted coming out of the Seven Mile property, the former psychiatric hospital. They were cited for trespassing and released.

Portable toilets tipped over

Vandalism was reported near the intersection of Sheldon and Verona streets sometime between Oct. 8 and Oct. 10, according to township police reports. Two portable toilets were tipped over and bricks were thrown at other bricks.

Change stolen from convertible

Sometime in the overnight hours of Oct. 7, someone stole change from a convertible parked at the Treetop Apartments near Novi and Eight Mile roads, according to city police reports.
