Crime Report: Property Reported Vandalized Around Northville

The following information was supplied by the City of Northville Police Department and Northville Township's Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Vandalism reported

  • A resident on the 16000 block of Johnson Creek Drive reported to township police that on March 17 his driver's side car door had been damaged. Someone scratched an obscenity on the door and keyed other parts, according to the report.
  • A resident on the 17000 block of Rollingwood Circle reported to township police that on March 17 graffiti was spray painted on his garage doors and the backboard of his basketball hoop.
  • Graffiti was reported sprayed onto the walls of sometime in the overnight hours of March 12. According to the city of Northville police report, someone had spray painted the Kool Aid logo from a stencil onto the walls.

Shoplifting reported at Kohl's

store security found two women with stolen merchandise on March 15 and called Northville Township police, according to township police reports. The women were seen going into the dressing room with the items. The tags were found on the floor, according to the police report. About $85 in items were later found in their bags, police said.

Township police cited the two Livonia women and released them at the scene, "due to poor weather and manpower issues," according to the report.

Seven Mile property trespassers cited

Three Brighton residents, ages 17-20, were found trespassing on the Seven Mile property on March 16, according to township police reports.

They told police they saw YouTube videos about the former psychiatric hospital property and wanted to check it out for themselves. They were all cited for trespassing. One of them was found with narcotic paraphernalia and was cited for it, according to the police report. They are due to appear in the 35th District Court in April.

Teens arrested on charges of marijuana possession

Northville city police arrested two teens on March 20 for possession of marijuana while they were hanging out at the Cabbagetown Park after mindnight, according to police reports.

Two of the teens told police they had marijuana, one also had paraphernalia, according to the report. Police arrested the two and the third one was taken to his home in Northville.
