Man Arrested for OWI, Marijuana Possession Charges
The following arrest information was supplied by the Northville Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Northville Township police arrested a man at 12:40 a.m. March 30 near the intersection of Seven Mile Road and Marilyn Street on charges of operating a vehicle while impaired and possessing marijuana, according to a police report.
The responding officer was heading northbound on Haggerty Road when he noticed a 2012 Ford Fusion weaving and then hugging the white lane divider, the report said. The officer followed the vehicle as it turned westbound on Seven Mile Road where the vehicle continued to weave, according to the report.
The officer stopped the vehicle and could detect a strong odor of intoxicants on the driver's breath as he spoke over the smell of a burning cigar in the ashtray, the report said. His eyes were also bloodshot and glassy and his speech was labored, according to the officer's report.

The driver admitted that he had been drinking, so the officer conducted sobriety tests such as the horizontal gaze, reciting the alphabet from D to S, the walk-and-turn, the one-leg balance and a preliminary breath test, the report said.
After a vehicle search, an officer found a leather bag on the front passenger floor that contained two plastic baggies of a green leafy substance that the man confirmed was marijuana, according to the report. There was also a wooden marijuana box called a “One Toke” and a metal pipe that contained a residue of marijuana, the report said.
