Man Flees After Getting Hit in Traffic Crash

The following arrest information was supplied by the Northville Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Northville Township police arrested a man at 4:27 p.m. March 27 near the intersection of Seven Mile Road and Pierson Drive on charges of driving with a suspended license and failing to report a hit and run, according to a police report.

The not-at-fault vehicle, described as a green or blue van with rear end damage, fled eastbound on Seven Mile Road, the report said. The responding officer saw a 2004 Chevrolet Venture matching the description on southbound I-275 at Six Mile Road and stopped it on I-96 at Newburgh Road, the report said.

The driver told police his car was rear-ended on Seven Mile Road and that he left the scene because of his warrants and suspended driver's license, according to the report. The officer checked and found that the man had a misdemeanor traffic warrant and 10 current suspensions, the report said.
