Northville Man Appointed to State Fire Safety Board

Gov. Rick Snyder appoints Northville resident John Enkemann to Michigan's top fire safety group.

Gov. Rick Snyder has appointed a Northville man to the state's fire safety advisory board.

John Enkemann, executive vice president and CEO of Albert Kahn Associates Inc. in Detroit, will serve a four-year term on the board, expiring July 15, 2015, according to a press release on the State of Michigan's website.

His background in in architecture. Enkemann is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the International Code Council. He also served on the Michigan Board of Architects.

"The appointees will provide the board with their experience, talents and skill. I look forward to their support in continuing to ensure Michigan's public buildings and workers are properly equipped for fire safety," Snyder said in the release.

The board will develop fire safety rules affecting the following: schools, health care facilities, prisons, state facilities and other public buildings.

The other appointed board members appointed include Donald Hicks of Freeland, Ralph Hodek of Houghton, Richard Miller of Dearborn, Kassandra Renneberg of Riverdale and Leslie Rodwell of Howell.
