In total, the firefighters raised $1,100 for the American Lung Association.
- Submitted by the Northville Township Fire Department
On Sunday March 4, members of the Northville Township Fire Department participated in the American Lung Association’s (ALA) Fight for Air Stair Climb at the Renaissance Center of Detroit. The event challenged participants to scale 70 flights of stairs, or 1,035 steps, to the top of Detroit’s tallest building. The Stair Climb is a unique fundraiser to benefit the ALA’s effort to “provide life saving education, research and advocacy so (we) can beat lung disease and soon find a cure,” and is a popular event among Fire Fighters and Paramedics from across Southeastern Michigan. Seven of Northville Township Fire Department’s Fire Fighters/Paramedics participated and all completed the 70 flight climb with times varying between 08:44 – 13:00.
The members would like to thank those that contributed to help them raise
over $1,100 to benefit the American Lung Association.
