Northville Twp. Fire Officials to Demonstrate Live Christmas Tree Burn

Dry Christmas trees can catch and spread fire quickly.

A dry Christmas tree is extremely flammable and could rapidly become a towering inferno in your living room. 

The Northville Township Fire Department will show in a live demonstration Friday how fast fire can engulf a dry Christmas tree.

Northville Township Fire Chief Richard Marinucci, State Fire Marshal Richard Miller and Chief Shadd Whitehead, president of the Southeastern Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs, will discuss fire safety tips especially important during the holidays. Those include tips for safety with candles, electrical fires, smoke alarm maintenance and testing and the importance of having a home fire escape plan.

Where: Northville Township Fire Station - 45745 West Six Mile Road (across from Northville High School)
