Police Arrest Northville Man on Charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Northville Township police arrested a Northville man July 5 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a Northville Township police report.

An officer saw a man driving a 2009 Ford Fusion speeding on Six Mile Road near Winchester Drive, the report said. The officer smelled intoxicants coming from the vehicle, according to the report. The driver said he had three beers earlier that evening, the report said, however, the man refused to do any sobriety tests including a preliminary breathalyzer test.

The officer arrested him, according to the report.

At the police department, the man agreed to a chemical test, which had a result of .12 percent blood alcohol content, the report said. The legal limit is .08 percent.

He had a hearing July 24 at 35th District Court.
