Northville Township police arrested a man and a woman on charges of possessing marijuana on May 16, according to a police report.
An officer saw a silver 2005 Chevy Impala, heading northbound on Haggerty Road toward Six Mile Road, drive through the Mobil gas station lot to avoid stopping at a red light, the report said.
The officer stopped the car and smelled marijuana, according to the report. The driver, a woman, said she had some marijuana but has a medical marijuana card, the report said. The officer found two sealed plastic packages of what looked like marijuana in her pants pockets and arrested her, according to the report.
After looking through the car, the officer found a small plastic sandwich bag containing a ball of tin foil with marijuana, the remains of marijuana cigarettes and one marijuana cigar after searching the vehicle, the report said.
The man in the passenger seat denied that they were his, but the officer saw that his hands were shaking and he had dilated eyes and a strong scent of marijuana on him, according to the report. The officer arrested him on charges of possessing marijuana and paraphernalia, the report said.
Both people posted a $300 bond and have an 8:30 a.m. hearing May 29 at 35th District Court.
