Teens Found on Roof of Former Northville Psychiatric Building Cited for Trespassing

The following information was supplied by Northville Township's Public Safety Department.

The Northville Township Police were dispatched to the former Northville Psychiatric Hospital on Seven Mile Road on Dec. 17 with a report of several people in the main building with flashlights around 6:30 p.m., according to a police report.

An officer checked the area and saw two people standing on the main roof of the building, the report said. The officer then called another officer to help. The two officers then ordered the people down from the roof and they complied, the report said. Five teens then walked out of the building to the police.

All five teens, four males and one female, said they were in the building, checking it out after hearing about it on the Internet and radio. The police ticketed all of them for trespassing. They were all 17-years-old and came from Pontiac, Royal Oak and Clawson.
