Two Men Attempt Break-In While Boy is Home Alone

This information was provided by City of Northville police.

Two men attempted to break into a Northville home June 14, according to a City of Northville police report.

They smashed a back window of a home on the 47000 block of South Chigwidden Drive while a 13-year-old boy was home alone, the report said. The suspects took off running through the backyard, according to the report. Novi police department's K9 unit arrived to assist in the search, the report said.

The 13-year-old boy said the two men rang the doorbell about five times, but he didn’t answer the door, according to the report. About one minute later, he heard and saw the window shatter in the rear of the house, the report said. He said he was able to get a good look at them and saw one clearing out the glass from the window as if to enter, according to the report. That’s when he said they saw him and took off running, the report said.
