Blindfolded and gagged, tied up and terrified, a 92-year-old woman was trapped inside her southeast Michigan home for the better part of an hour before intruders left with her jewelry, her car, and her sense of security.

The woman told WJBK, Channel 2, that she wanted to share her story in hopes the suspects in the Wedesday robbery would be caught.

She had barely rubbed the sleep from her eyes about 9:30 a.m. when the pair of robbers kicked their way through a steel door at her residence in Southgate, where she’s lived for six and a half decades.

They demanded money. She said she didn’t have any.

“Why are you doing this?” she asked one of them before she was restrained. “You're such a handsome kid. Why? You have a mother, too.”

He reportedly looked at her and said, “Quiet.”

After restraining her, they rifled through her belongings, stealing a string of pearls, earrings, furs and other precious jewelry, according to a WDIV, Channel 4, report, also aired as Southgate police try to track down the intruders.

Authorities are looking for the woman’s 2001 black Ford Taurus, which has a Michigan license plate, No. BVK 7800. The VIN is 1FAFP53U81G258962. The suspects are described as in their 20s and 30s. One of them was clean-cut, she said.

When the thieves left, the woman was able to break free and called police.

Despite the frightening ordeal, she’s not going to let the robbers steal her home. She’s not moving, she said.

That woman needs an equalizer, specifically, a S&W 38 revolver, dead easy to load, shoot, and intimidate this kid of thug, or con men. My Mom ,at 92, kept a sawed off shotgun in plain view in one hand whenever she answered the door. Never had a problem, everyone was always very polite, I wonder why? The next time these two try it again, odds are, they will be shot. If it were Detroit, they would be dead. Detroiters don't fool around. Michigan has a very geneous 'Castle ' law, take advantage of it.

Michigan doesn't have a Castle Law genius.
