Northville enjoys the spotlight in a National Park Service initiative and a national magazine for landscape architects.

Mill Race Village featured in MotorCities Passport Stamp Program

, which is recognized as a National Heritage Site, is featured in the newest pamphlet published by the MotorCities Passport Stamp Program.

The program allows visitors to receive a stamp in their National Park Passport book to mark their visit to the historic spot on Griswold Street.

"It has been recognized as having national significance on the heritage of America," Northville City Councilwoman Nancy Darga said.

The National Park Passport book is available for about $10 for those wishing to collect the stamps, Darga told the City Council at its meeting last week.

The spiral-bound booklet is part of a National Park Service initiative that encourages visitors to collect stamps available at national parks and heritage areas throughout the United States.

The MotorCities pamphlet highlights 21 sites in Metro Detroit.

Northville spotlighted in 'Landscape Architecture Magazine'

Landscape Architecture Magazine, a national publication of the American Society of Landscape Architects, features downtown Northville in its February edition.

"It was quite fun to read about your own hometown in a national magazine," Darga said.
