PHOTO: Northville's Polls Close in One Hour

There was light traffic this afternoon at the city's polls.

The polls are set to close in less than an hour.

At about 3 p.m. there were about 337 votes logged at Northville's city hall. About 180 of those votes came from absentee ballots, said an elections chairperson Jan Paver.

for city voters were three names vying for two city council spots, as well as Christopher Johnson, who is running for re-election as mayor. Two school items also appeared on city and township ballots – two school board candidates running unopposed and the school district's non-homestead millage renewal.

There were a handful of people in the voting room at the city hall when Northville Patch stopped by at about 3 p.m.

One of the vote tabulation machines wasn't accepting ballots earlier today and had to be replaced, Paver said. But it was done quickly, she added.

Paver said that traffic appeared comparable to . She also said the elections appeared to be running more smoothly because of the that the city is using to check-in voters this year for the first time.
