Readers Pick Poole's Tavern as Best Place to Celebrate St. Paddy's Day

Based on votes by poll, Northville readers say Poole's Tavern is the best place around town to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

There's a variety of bars, taverns and pubs in Northville to appeal to St. Patrick's Day patrons.

Based on our poll, is a favorite in Northville. According to its website, "this location has been a tavern since the early 1900’s when it was the Thomas Tavern. There have been several ownership changes through the decades.  It has operated as Joe’s Bar, Getzie’s Pub, and finally in 1997 it became Poole’s Tavern. Under the stewardship of the Poole family, the tavern was extensively renovated and the result is the updated, fun atmosphere present today."

One Northville Patch reader gave it four out of five possible stars and wrote: "Love this place - great food and easy-to-be-in atmosphere!"

A Patch restaurant reviewer of Poole's Tavern that the service was "friendly and accomodating" and the menu "is expansive yet simple. Burgers and sandwiches are among its signature favorites, and the menu features daily specials."

Since 2005, the tavern has been owned by Northville residents John Lamerato, John Casey and Rob Baidas, according to its website.
