2 Candidates Remain for Northville School Board Seat

The school board will choose a final candidate Tuesday.

The Northville school board has searched for candidates to take the place of member Joseph Hige, Jr., who will step down from his position Dec. 31.

The board narrowed the list from seven candidates to two: Michael T. Barrett and Ann B. Kalass.

They will be interviewed at a special board meeting Tuesday from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at Hillside Middle School. During the regularly scheduled board meeting to follow, the board will select a final candidate, according to an email from Superintendent Mary Kay Gallagher.

The final candidate will serve on the board from January through Dec. 31, 2014. The candidate may choose to run for election to the open four-year term beginning January 2015 in the next regular school election next year, the email said.
