Dexter Schools Closed Due to Inclement Weather

Classes will be canceled on Friday due to an overnight winter storm across Southeast Michigan.

A wintry mix of snow and freezing rain following this week's February thaw resulted in the second "snow day" of the year in Dexter.

Dexter Community Schools announced the school closing, due to inclement weather around 5 a.m.

More than 600 school districts in southeast Michigan were closed or delayed on Friday, according to various news reports.

The wintry mix began in Dexter early Friday morning with snow and wind.

Today's forecast calls for snow and falling temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

In the event of a cancellation, sports games, practices, and other club notices will be posted on the district's website, www.dexterschools.org.
