Disney Star Says ‘Yes’ to Michigan Senior’s ‘Promposal’

Justin Hang’s self-deprecating humor on a YouTube “promposal” was an offer Allie DeBerry of “A.N.T. Farm” couldn’t resist.

It’ll be hard for anyone to match the memories a Fenton High School senior made at his prom Saturday.

Actress Allie DeBerry, who plays Paisley Houndstooth on the Disney Channel’s “A.N.T. Farm,” said yes to Justin Hang, The Flint Journal/MLive reports.

Hang asked DeBerry to the prom in a YouTube video, which he Tweeted to the star. She said OK, conditionally. If he could get 1,500 Retweets, she would be his date.

Hang, 18, said in the video that he “has game.”

The viral Twitterstorm that followed proved that.

So on Saturday, she showed up.

DeBerry reportedly thought the video – in which Hang spent time “chilling” in a chaise lounge in his snow-filled yard, did push ups, confessed to never having had a girlfriend, hung out with “bears” to make the point he couldn’t “bear” going to prom without her and otherwise charmed her into saying yes – was “hysterical.”

"We have the same sense of humor, which is kind of wacky and goofy,” she said.

Hang had already introduced himself to DeBerry with Instagram photos that spliced the two of them together at different events.

"I've known about him for a while and thought he was funny," she said. "So he made this video ... I had to send it to all my friends and they thought it was hilarious and every person was like, 'You have to go.'"

There was no keeping the date secret. People magazine picked up the story, surprising the actress, who said she “didn’t expect it to blow up that much.”

Next up for Hang is Kalamazoo College, where he will play football and study pre-med.
