In Brief: Northville Bids Farewell to Former School Board President

The board and community leaders honored Joan Wadsworth Tuesday night for her service to the district.

Hers has been a presence that has been part of Northville's school board for more than 18 years.

On Tuesday night, the board, community, former colleagues and others came together to say goodbye to . State Rep. Kurt Heise (R-Plymouth), who ran against her for his current position, thanked her for her service. Retired superintendent Leonard Rezmierski also made an appearance to thank her. It was Wadsworth's final meeting before she moves for a few years to Ireland, where her husband has accepted a job.

She was praised Tuesday night for accolades ranging from to programs she was credited with implementing.

During her tenure as president, she has led the board through difficult votes and collective bargaining agreements. In the past year alone, the board has though – and and She served as board president last year when it following .

Tuesday night by the board to Wadsworth's seat for the last 11 months of her term. and eight were interviewed, with one ultimately withdrawing his application.

Joe, the closed sign was in the window because Chocolates by Renee was closed for the day. The forRead More rent sign was in the window because the space holds more then one business. The other space that the chocolate store does not occupy is available to rent.

Journo101 mistake here. Always verify a closure with the owner or valid source before publishing.Read More Mistakes like this can be incredibly costly for a small business owner. The for rent sign has been there for over a year, same with the closed sign. Spend time in your city everyone, and you'll know whats going on before you see it online!
