Northville Girls Soccer Beats Canton

The Mustangs won the game, 2-0.

The Northville High School Mustangs varsity girls soccer beat Canton High School Tuesday by a score of 2-0.

Junior Gabby Mencotti received a pass from the right flank from freshmen Kacey Cerretani; Mencotti collected the pass and shot far post.

Sophomore Kelly McHugh played a short floated ball into the 18 yard box. Senior Emily Bush brought the ball to her feet, turned to goal and fired a shot past the Canton keeper. Senior goalkeeper Kiki Hilmer registered the shutout for Northville.  

Northville moves to 3-0-0; Canton moves to 0-3-0.

Northville Girls Soccer Loses to Plymouth

The Northville High School Mustangs varsity girls soccer lost Thursday to undefeated Plymouth High School by a score of 3-0.

The following summary was submitted by Northville girls soccer coach Eric Brucker.

(37 degrees, windy; rain the entire game)

First Half             

Senior Madi Lewis of Plymouth broke behind the Northville defense. Plymouth scored again with less than 10 minutes to go in the first half.

Second half                        

Lewis of Plymouth was fed and outran the back line and scored her second of the game.                        

Northville moves to  3-1-0; Plymouth moves to 3-0-0.

The next game is 7 p.m. Monday at Livonia's Stevenson High School.
