Northville, Plymouth Girls Soccer Battle to 1-1 Tie

The teams ended the game 1-1.

's varsity girls soccer team took on Wednesday, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.

Northville coach Eric Brucker said of the game: "Both teams generated a lot of scoring opportunites. We could not find the target until the last second (literally). Kiki Hilmer came up big for us tonight. She made one amazing save after another to keep us in the game. The girls never gave up. They kept fighting till the very last second and scratched out a tie."

  • In the game's 35th minute, the Plymouth Wildcats score a goal. It is the first of the game, bringing the score 1-1.
  • In the second half of the game, with 8 seconds left on the clock, Northville evened the score. Sophomore Jamie Cheslik passed to junior Emily Bush who made a shot "over the outstretched hands of the Plymouth keeper and into the back of the net with one second left on the clock."

Kiki Hilmer was in net for the Mustangs with six big saves, Brucker said. Northville now moves to 2-0-2 and Plymouth moves to 1-1-2.

Northville now goes on Spring Break. The team's next game will be on Tuesday at Salem High School.
