Tyler Jones, a 2009 graduate of and junior at the University of Michigan, was awarded the prestigious Truman Scholarship award Friday.
Jones was one of 54 students chosen out of 587 candidates nationwide and will receive a $30,000 scholarship for graduate studies, reports the University of Michigan News Service.
The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation awards the scholarship to students who are interested in implementing change in public service.
