The Board of Education is considering changing boundaries for several schools in the district. What do you think is the best plan?

Due to an increase in enrollment, the Northville Board of Education is considering changing several school boundaries. Below is an email from the district that explains what the Board of Education discussed about the boundaries at last week's meeting. According to the email, the Board expects to make a final decision on April 9.

Following input from two Attendance Boundary Community Forums on March 5 and March 11, the Board of Education at a March 19, 2013 Committee of the Whole meeting narrowed the attendance boundary options moving forward for continued discussion and consideration. At the March 26 Board of Education meeting, the Board further narrowed the options moving forward for final consideration at the April 9, 2013 Board of Education meeting scheduled at Hillside Middle School in the Forum at 7:30 p.m.

The option moving forward for consideration at the elementary level is Option W-1, which reassigns a portion of the current Ridge Wood attendance area to Winchester Elementary School.  At the middle school level, there are two options moving forward for final consideration: MS-Option 2, which moves a portion of the current Silver Springs/Meads Mill attendance area to a Silver Springs/ Hillside attendance area; and MS-Option 4, which reassigns a portion of the current Ridge Wood/Meads Mill attendance area to a Ridge Wood/Hillside attendance area.
