Saturday Fundraiser to Benefit Northville Stadium

A Night for Northville will raise money for further renovations to Tom Holzer Ford Field.

The Northville TURF CLUB is having a fundraiser this Saturday to help raise $250,000 for final developments to Tom Holzer Ford Field.

The volunteer group of 13 Northville community and business leaders is hosting its second A Night for Northville fundraiser Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight at Northville Square Mall, 133 W. Main Street.

More than $41,000 was raised at the 2012 A Night for Northville event and hopes run high to exceed this amount this coming Saturday night, according to a press release.

The event includes hors d’oeuvres and desserts, an open bar, live entertainment from The Shawn Riley Band, two silent auctions and more. Tickets are $100 per person ($70 is tax-deductible).

After a successful Phase I campaign, TURF CLUB set its new goal to raise $250,000 for Phase II, the final phase, by summer 2013. Strong community support, multiple-year scoreboard advertisements, a fundraising event (A Night for Northville) and a naming rights agreement with Tom Holzer Ford were the primary resources for Phase I.

"The community is so supportive of this event and it’s proof of the wonderful place we live. Auction item donations have been extremely strong and include a suite at the Palace for a Piston’s game, golf outings at local country clubs, gift certificates from Northville’s finest restaurants, large screen TV’s and other community items," said Event Chair David Moore, in a press release. "There is truly something for everyone. Although this year’s event focuses on the Stadium, it is our belief that this event should continue to support other educational goals."

All activity and contributions for Phase II have been managed by the Northville Mustangs Booster Club (NMBC).

NMBC President and TURF CLUB Chair Sue Baldwin said, "The exciting part of the Phase II improvements to Tom Holzer Ford Field is the impact they will have on everyone in our community. While Phase I benefitted our student athletes, Phase II focuses on enhancements to restrooms, concessions, and entrances that make attending events at this venue more enjoyable. Please support our efforts in continuing to make Northville the place to be."

Tickets for A Night for Northville will be available at the door, but advance purchase is recommended. Tickets can be bought online at www.NHSTurfClub.org.
