'Swingset Mamas' To Perform in Northville

The concert at Northville High School will raise funds for a new playground at Thornton Creek Elementary School.

The Swingset Mamas are coming to Northville and will perform a children's concert at Northville High School on Saturday, Jan. 19. The nationally-renowned musical group will perform two shows, one at 1:30 p.m. and one at 3 p.m.

The group will sing positive songs such "If I Became the President " and "Take a Walk in Someone Else's Shoes."

Tickets are $8 at the door or $5 if you preorder online. Children ages 2 and younger that can sit on a lap are free. With each ticket purchased, you will receive a $6 gift certificate from Goody Two Shoes in Northville.

Proceeds from the show will fund new playground equipment for Thornton Creek Elementary School.

The event is put on by "A Cause for Play," which is a committee that was established to replace the school's 18-year-old wooden playground with a new play set.
