Ridge Wood Elementary School has issued tips for talking to children about weapons at school following an incident at Ridge Wood on Wednesday.

Northville Public Schools and Northville Township police are investigating . No one was injured and the knife was confiscated.

  • Tattling and informing are different. Our students did the right thing by
    informing us of what could have been a dangerous situation. Even when a student feels scared or threatened, it is important to inform an adult. Informing can look a variety of ways, such as a note, email, phone call, or direct conversation, etc.
  • Rumors don’t help anyone.
  • Safety is one of our most important jobs. We take it very seriously and
    we feel strongly that this situation is completely under control and our
    students are as safe as they can possibly be.
