Vote: Amerman Elementary School Named Finalist in $10,000 Facebook Contest

According to a Northville school district email, the money would be used for new playground equipment.

is in the running for a $10,000 prize to build a new playground.

According to an email sent throughout the district, Amerman "has been selected as a finalist in the Bank of Ann Arbor Project Help Community Grant program for a potential grant of $10,000 for new playground equipment. Amerman is working on improvements to their playground due to the necessary removal of outdated equipment that must be replaced. Their overall goal is to raise $42,000 and this grant will take us along way towards that goal and you can help us win the grant!"

To vote, visit the Bank of Ann Arbor Facebook page. Click on the 'Project Help' button at the top center of the page and "Like" it. Under the $10,000 finalists, you'll find Amerman. To vote for Amerman, click on the picture of the school and click "Vote."

As of 4 p.m., the school had 235 votes and is in second place in the $10,000 category.

The bank's Facebook page offers more details on voting: "Vote daily through May 23 on all three amounts. For several weeks, applications have been submitted for all three grant amounts. The finalists, as determined by a panel of independent community-minded individuals, are below. From May 9 at 9 a.m. to May 23 at 9 p.m., Bank of Ann Arbor's entire Facebook community can help decide which projects get funded. Voting is limited to one vote per person per day on each of the three grant amounts."
