At the Farmers Market: Share the Harvest

Share the harvest with fresh produce donations to Civic Concern.

Thursday, July 19 the Northville Farmers Market will begin receiving donations of fresh produce to benefit local families who depend on Civic Concern for nutrition assistance.

Marlene Kunz, the Director of Civic Concern characterized the fresh food donations as healthy for families in more than one way.  "Fresh vegetables and fruits are healthy and nutritious to eat, but the donated produce also helps families stretch their food budgets."

Donations from home gardens, or extra fresh produce purchased at the Market will all be accepted.  Our growers also support the project by donating several hundred pounds of produce weekly.

According to Marlene, the response from the families to the fresh produce is "overwhelming!"

Donations of fresh produce, or canned goods, will be accepted at the white building in the Farmers Market weekly through Oct. 1.  Share the harvest!
