On June 23, 23 former girls soccer players, and coaches got together to play an alumnae game to benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The money raised was donated on behalf of , a Northville resident and benefactor of the Children’s Hospital care.

Through player donations, gate donations, concession sales, and raffle of local community goods, the event raised $1,160 for St. Jude’s.

The game brought players from 1990 to 2012 graduating classes. Donations were received from alumni as far back as the ’84 State Champion team.

Due to the high temperatures, the game was split into three periods.

In the first period, Ali Hawksford (’11) found the back of the net on a cross from Lauren Lokey (’10) to put the white team up 1-0. In the same period, Mallory  Weber (’12) put one passed the maroon keeper to put the white up 2-0.   Lauren Lokey (’10) was credited with the second assist as well. Maroon got on the board late in the first period by the foot of Lindsey Blair (’08). The long shot went over the outstretched hand of the white keeper.

In the second period, the Maroon offense came alive.   Kaitlyn Girbach (’11) tied the game off a deflection; the assist was credited to Sarah Stern (’08)

Ashley Maclean-Mardossian (’91) would give the maroon team their first lead of the game on an  unassisted goal. At the end of the second period – White (2),     Maroon (3).

In the final period, only one was goal was put on the board as the two defenses stiffened. Sarah Stern (’08) would get the final tally off an assist from Ashley Maclean-Mardossian (’91)

Final Score: White (2), Maroon (4)

It was a great time for a great cause. We were able to get new alumnae together to kick the ball around and have some fun with no injuries. The efforts of wife Pam Yezback-Brucker and Robert Lyon to solicit generous donations from local businesses help to make the raffle a big success. Thanks to Albie Ghazal, Kim Yaggi, Alexis Mencotti, and Rachel Yaggi  for giving up their time to help run the event.

Thanks to the local businesses that provided items to raffle:
