Northville Girls Basketball Beats Wayne in Final Home Game

The Mustangs beat Wayne, 58-38.

The Northville Mustangs defeated Wayne Memorial High School in the team's final home game of the season by a score of 58-38.

Eleven of Northville's 12 players put points on the board in the Thursday night game. Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Alex Moynes with 15 points, Aly Bates with 10 points and Kendra Brenner with 9.

"Our girls did a nice job of finding open teammates and they converted that into some easy scores," coach Todd Gudith said.

The girls started out with a 20-5 lead in the first quarter.

Gudith added, "The Mustangs converted 25-52 FG attempts while recording 20 assists as a team. Wayne relied on Ashley Bland to carry the load offensively as she poured in 24 points. However, she didn't get much help from her teammates."

Northville, 11-7 overall, will next travel to Waterford Mott on Monday and Walled Lake Western Wednesday to finish its regular season.
