Northville Mustangs Proceed to Playoffs After Friday's Win

The Northville High School football team will play their first play-off game against Novi's Detroit Catholic Central.

The Northville High School varsity football team defeated Walled Lake Western Friday at Tom Holzer Ford Field, 38 to 31. 

The game was tied at 31 with less than a minute remaining, forcing the game into overtime, the Detroit Free Press reported.

“... all week long we’ve been telling our kids to believe, believe, believe. And they did tonight. I’m just so proud of them and happy for them,"  Northville coach Matt Ladach told the Free Press.

The Mustangs ended their regular season with eight consecutive wins. Last week's victory against the Warriors brings the Mustangs into the first round of the playoffs Friday against Novi's Detroit Catholic Central.

The games starts at 7 p.m. at Tom Holzer Ford Field. Pre-sale tickets go on sale Thursday and Friday for $5 in the Northville High School Athletic Office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Passes are not accepted for playoff games.
