Summer Construction Begins on Nine Mile Road

The city hopes to avoid traffic issues with Thornton Creek Elementary before Northville schools begin on Sept. 4.

Construction began this week on Nine Mile Road from Beck Road to Taft Road and will last until September.

During construction, the road will remain open to one-way westbound traffic only; the eastbound lane will be closed.

According to Novi Director of Public Services/City Engineer Rob Hayes, the contractor hopes to have the road re-open to two-way traffic by Sept. 1, weather permitting.
