With the cancellation of school Friday, Northville's final division game
against South Lyon East was rescheduled for Saturday afternoon at South Lyon
East because Northville's gym was unavailable.  Both teams opened up the offense early with Northville taking an early 10-6 lead only to have the Cougars go up 11-10 late in the quarter.  The game was starting to resemble the last time
these teams met in which East pulled of the upset.  They were picking up the
pace defensively and getting Northville to take quick shots while South Lyon
East found some open looks of their own and knocked down those open shots.  The Mustangs were able to reclaim the lead before the end of the quarter though to go up 13-11.  Northville was just warming up as they used part of a 22-7 run
that extended into the final minutes of the 1st quarter to open the game up.
Sr. Kendra Brenner had 15 pts. by halftime.  Northville's defense got even
better in the 2nd half as they held East to just three made baskets in the final
sixteen minutes.  Nine different Mustangs chipped in offensively on the
afternoon.  The win gives Northville 2nd place in the KLAA Central division,
it's highest finish since the league started in 2008-2009.

It was a little back and forth early on and it gives you and thoughts of
here we go again.  This time our team was more focused on the task at hand and
not overlooking them.  Losing to them the first time was an eye opener and it
got everyone's attention.  East played a great game three weeks ago and we were flat.  I though we owed it to ourselves to come out there and give them our
best.  Although we didn't win the division we are pleased with where we
finished.  Now it's on to the playoff portion of our schedule.  Every game will
be a good test to see just where we rank in the conference and association.

Northville 12-4 overall, 7-3 division begins the KLAA playoffs Tuesday as
the 2nd seed from the Central division hosting the 3rd seed from the South
division Plymouth.
