Northville traveled to John Glenn Thursday to take on the #6 state ranked Rockets in the KLAA Conference Semi-finals.  The Mustangs advanced to the semi's beating Plymouth in the 1st round, while Glenn defeated South Lyon East.  John Glenn's roster boasts three players that have signed with division 1 colleges and have some talented underclassmen to boot.  That talent was on display early for the Rockets as they used their pressure to force the Mustangs into coughing up the ball and cashing in with some easy lay ups.  When Glenn wasn't getting steals they were hitting shots from all parts of the floor as they shot 56% for the game.  Although the Mustangs fell behind quickly, they recovered in the 2nd quarter to cut the lead in half to just six with 4 minutes left.  Glenn scored to go up eight but a missed lay up and free throws by Northville which would have cut the lead to four turned into another break away layup to put Glenn up ten late in the half.  John Glenn got hot again in the 3rd quarter as they revved up the pressure some more and made a bunch of easy baskets to pull away and go up by 25.  Northville wasn't limited on the scoring end as they shot 40% for the game and scored in double figures each quarter.  Glenn's ability to out run the Mustangs and get down the floor in a hurry was a big difference.

When you make the league playoffs you know that every game is going to be tough.  Glenn has a ton of athleticism.  We couldn't run and gun with them all game.  We felt confident that we could score enough points against them but we knew that handling the ball and completing passes were going to be the key to keeping the game in the 40's.  Glenn takes a lot of chances defensively.  If you crack a little under the pressure, they make you pay. Northville 13-5 overall, 7-3 division plays Monday at home in a consolation game vs. Waterford Mott and wraps up the regular season with a home game Thursday against Walled Lake Western.
