The Friends of the Rouge annual Spring Bug Hunt needs volunteers! This event takes place at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Environmental Interpretive Center. Volunteers are assigned to teams of 4-8 people that travel to two locations where their job is to look for living things in samples collected from the river. Data about the number and types of bugs found is used to assess the sites; the data is submitted to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Rouge communities. Volunteers must pre-register by April 15th. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by a participating adult.
