Friends of Thayer's Corner Nature Area to Hold Rummage Sale This Weekend

The sale will be held Friday and Saturday at the park's historic barn.

For Marv Gans, the 60 acres that make up the a are like "a little bit of Up North in your back yard," he said.

The green space includes 75 community garden plots, a historic barn, walking trails, new picnic shelter and more. Located on Napier Road in Northville Township, the park is funded in part by township dollars but largely by donations raised by the Friends of Thayer's Corner Nature Area volunteer group.

The volunteers will hold a rummage sale to raise money for the park on Aug. 3-4. It will offer items ranging from 50 cents to $100, including gardening tools, furniture, sporting goods and other items. Gans, who is a volunteer with the group, said he hopes the sale raises $1,000.
