Northville Charity Wins $10,000 Prize

The New Hope Center for Grief Support won a grant from Community Financial Credit Union.

recently announced the winners in its “Thumbs Up for Charity” program. Throughout April, the community had the
opportunity to nominate nonprofits to be finalists in the program and then vote from the five finalists to determine a winner.

New Hope Center for Grief Support, a Northville-based organization providing grief support services to adults and children grieving the loss of a loved one, was the leading vote getter and the $10,000 grand prize winner.

“We are honored to have been included in this contest,” said Cathy Clough, Executive Director of New Hope Center for Grief Support. “All of these organizations do such amazing work and we are proud to have been nominated alongside them."

Sarah Cousineau, Community Financial Credit Union marketing manager added: “This was an extremely close vote, which goes to show how valued each of these organizations are by the community. At Community Financial, we are proud to be able to bring these organizations to the forefront and highlight the amazing work they do.”

The other winners were:
• Second place and $5,000 - WSDP Radio, The New 88.1 – Plymouth-Canton Community Schools;
• Third place and $5,000 - Friendship Shelter – Otsego County;
• Fourth place and $2,500 - Old Village School, Northville;
• Fifth place and $2,500 - Montmorency County Council on Aging–Montmorency County.
