UPDATE: Salvation Army Reaches Less Than Half of Christmas Goal

The Salvation Army is still looking for donations and volunteer bell ringers.

The Salvation Army – which serves Northville, Plymouth, Canton and Belleville – has collected $153,874 of its $315,000 Christmas goal for this year.

The Red Kettle campaign has collected $116,141 of its targeted $225,000 as of Dec. 14, according to Salvation Army figures.

"The bell ringing portion of our campaign has about a week left," Salvation Army offiicals said. "We are hoping to have as  many kettles manned as possible to collect funds this week before Christmas."

Donations can still be made to the the kettles, dropped off in one of the Red Kettles or to the on­line kettle at www.misalplymouth.org. They can also be dropped off or mailed to the Salvation Army at 9451 S. Main St. in Plymouth, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.

The Salvation Army also continues to look for bell ringers. lf you'd like to volunteer as a bell ringer, sign up online at misalplymouth.org or call Sandy Kollinger at 734-453-5464 ext. 24.
