WHAT: A series of panel discussions focusing on tips to stay healthy – both physically and emotionally.

The first discussion will focus on tips to eat healthy – especially when pressed for time and resources. Topics will include how to eat healthy on a budget, the importance of staying physically active, and how to shop “smart” for groceries.

Guest speakers will be Brahmlin Sethi, Registered Dietician and Amanda Weishuhn, Clinical Treatment Specialist at the Center For Eating Disorders in Ann Arbor.

Attendees will be asked what topic areas are of interest to them for future panel discussions.

Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 11:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. in Room 254 in the LA building [Liberal Arts] at Washtenaw Community College, Huron Drive campus.

WHY: “Our vision is to bring speakers together to educate the WCC faculty/staff and students along with the Washtenaw county community on how to lead a healthy lifestyle,” said Cheryl Finley, Case Manager in the Student Resource and Women’s Center at Washtenaw Community College. “We all have time and budget constraints – but that doesn’t mean you can’t adopt a healthy lifestyle. Our Healthy Living series will give attendees the information and resources they need to balance the demands of work, home and school.”

The Center’s staff helps students negotiate available college and community resources to help them achieve their goals – and offers grants for tuition, books, child care and bus tokens.  The SRWC assists all students, both male and female.
