Northville Civic Concern is a food bank that was founded in 1983 by Charlie 'Pipi' Smith. Working first from a pantry in Charlie's garage, Civic Concern moved several times before settling into its current location on 7 Mile Road. The organization provides temporary services to qualifying residents of Northville and Northville Township. Approximately 500 children, teens, men and women from around 170 households are currently served.

Completely staffed and operated by volunteers, Civic Concern relies on the generosity of the community to provide food and monetary donations. Personal care items are also accepted. These are ongoing necessities that need to be continually replenished; what comes in, goes out.

All donations are tax deductible, and can be dropped off during business hours. Checks can be mailed to Northville Civic Concern, PO Box 323, Northville, MI 48167. Volunteers are always welcome to help out.

Distributions are held on the second and fourth Friday of each month, from 10am - 1pm. (December 2010 distributions are on the first and third Friday.)
