The incident occurred Friday around 5:30 p.m.
A female teen was approached by an unkown man in Hines Park Friday evening who asked her to unbutton and pull down her pants to avoid getting in trouble. The incident occurred in the playground area near Seven Mile Road and Hines Drive at about 5:30 p.m. According to a city of Northville police department alert: the girl was with a male teen when they were approached by the man. He was carrying a hand-held radio, similar to a walkie talkie, and told them they were in trouble. The man asked for their identification. The official list of candidates for the August 7 election was released, indicating Woodside would run for treasurer.
Karen Woodside, a candidate for the Northville Township Board of Trustees, declared Friday that she would be running for the office of treasurer. The deadline to file was May 15. Woodside initially filed for all four seats – supervisor, clerk, treasurer and trustee – and had to choose one by Friday. Woodside will now run for treasurer against current trustee Marjorie Banner in the August 7 primary. Both are Republicans and there is no Democrat to challenge in the November election. The two are vying to fill the seat now held by treasurer Richard Henningsen. The official list now has three Republicans running, with no Democratic Party challengers, for the office of supervisor. Current trustee Christopher Roosen as well as Robert Nix and …
Sunday scrimmage completes a busy weekend.
The Whites spotted the Blues an early goal before coming back to take the second scrimmage of the Plymouth Whalers annual Rookie Orientation, 6-1, on Sunday at Compuware Arena. Three players in different stage of their careers led the Whites’ attack and played well over the two-day camp. Veteran Danny Vanderwiel scored a goal Sunday morning for the Whites and led all scorers in the camp with a goal and two assists. Like many players approaching their second year in the Ontario Hockey League, Vanderwiel appears stronger and is playing with renewed confidence. Vanderwiel was asked about the difference between Year 1 and Year 2. “I learned a lot last year,” Vanderwiel said. “You have more time than you think out there. You learn patience …

About 250 people were in attendance at the Saturday night event.
Each year since its inception three years ago, the local Democratic Spring Gala has grown. This year, the Northville, Plymouth, Livonia, Community and West Oakland Democratic Clubs met Saturday night at the Meadowbrook Country Club in Northville. "This event really brings together Democrats in an area that is usually not thought of as a Democratic area at all," said Scott Craig, president of the Northville Democratic Club. "It has really become a known event statewide." More than 30 local Democrats running for first-time office or re-election on the local, state and national levels were in attendance. I can’t believe that Woodside would show her face in Northville Township Politics after here last incomplete run as Township Supervisor. During her tenure as Supervisor she failed the people by not even completing her first 4 years as Supervisor. Now she is asking for the community to elect her as Treasurer. When we vote we should not leave any stone unturned, or closet door shut. I’m sure if you…   more ›
