Anita Bartschat Attends Last Meeting as Northville School Board Member

In addition to her board position, Bartschat was active in the community in other ways.

Though Anita Bartschat has only served on the Northville school board for six months, she has served the district in other ways for several years before that. On Tuesday, she attended the last meeting of her term as a member of Northville's school board. Bartschat will soon be moving with her family to Germany. Bartschat was honored at the meeting by state Rep. Kurt Heise (R-Plymouth), a representative from the office of state Sen. Patrick Colbeck (R-Canton) and others in the community. "I worked with Anita Bartschat during my tenure in Lansing," Heise said, adding that she was a "strong advocate for all of us." The mother of four students in the district previously served as president of Northville's Legislative Action Network (LAN). …

7 Submit Applications For Northville School Board Interim Seat

Some of the applicants were also interviewed to fill a previous vacancy.

Seven people applied to fill a soon-to-be-vacated seat on Northville's school board, according to a Northville Public Schools alert. The deadline was Thursday. The applicants seek to replace board member Anita Bartschat, elected in November 2011, who announced her resignation effective in July. She'll be moving to Germany with her husband and family. The board will conduct interviews on June 25. According to the alert, they may pick an appointee at the special call meeting. The applicants for the position include: Three of the candidates – William Bryan, Michael Barrett and Roland Hwang – were interviewed to replace Joan Wadsworth last year. Northville School Board Member Resigns

Anita Bartschat will be relocating to Germany.

- From a Northville Public Schools email Northville Board of Education member Anita Bartschat will step down from the post she has held since January, 2012, to relocate to Dusseldorf, Germany, with her family and husband Mike, who has accepted a two-year foreign assignment with Johnson Controls, Inc. In Brief: Northville School Board Member May Resign

Board member Anita Bartschat's husband may be relocated to Germany for work.

At the end of Northville's school board meeting on Tuesday night, board member Anita Bartschat shared with the community that she may be relocating in the summer to Germany. Bartchat said that her husband may be relocated for work in July. She was elected to her first term on the school board in November 2011. "This is one thing I would truly regret giving up," Bartschat said. She said she would know for certain by the end of this month if she will in fact relocate. If Bartschat were to resign her position, the board would appoint an interim member to her seat. Then in November, the spot would be available in the general election.
